Medical Receptionist – Insurance Verification

Contract to Hire

San Jose, CA – On-site

$28 – $32/hour

Option 1 is actively recruiting for a Medical Receptionist with one of our TOP growing healthcare clients in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a medical office/healthcare setting in a patient-facing role, be knowledgeable in performing insurance verifications, and have outstanding customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Verify insurance, prior to patients’ appointment so patients can be given an estimate of how much it will cost out-of-pocket
• Explain to patients how much coverage is provided by their insurance
• Act as the first point of contact for patients, physicians, vendors, and visitors
• Check-in patients
• Answering incoming phones and emails
• Schedule and follow-up regarding patients’ appointments
• RTE (Real-Time Eligibility)
• Update patient’s records as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of directly related work experience
• Insurance verification experience is required for this role
• Understanding of CPT codes
• HS Diploma
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience working with EPIC is preferred, but willing to train
• Bilingual is a plus!
