Medi-Cal Billing Specialist

Fremont, CA

Long Term Contract

$24 – $27/hour

NEW Medi-Cal Billing Specialist opportunity with one of our TOP healthcare clients located in Fremont, CA. Medi-Cal Billers must have strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate should be reliable, have a strong understanding of insurance processes, and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and submit electronic and hard copy claims to various payers (Government, Managed Care, and Commercial)
  • Perform follow-ups on unpaid accounts
  • Perform appeals with payer
  • Payer denial review
  • Processes refunds for accounts payable
  • Posts payment transfers from professional billing to hospital billing
  • Review accounts for possible underpayments

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with Medi-Cal
  • Understanding and working knowledge of appeals and denials processes
  • Experience with EPIC is a plus!
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
