As the AR Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing assigned accounts receivables staff, while assisting the Office Manager in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees management of the day-to-day operations of the assigned accounts receivables staff
  • Works with the Office Manager regarding hiring and supervision of staff
  • Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions, including termination, while motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
  • Works with the Office Manager to establish departmental goals and timelines
  • Updates Office Manager monthly on whether the goals have been met
  • Works with staff in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures, especially those related to reimbursement maximization and accounts receivable
  • Monitors accounts receivable and respond as needed to accounts receivable problems
  • Handles patient complaints about fees and billing and decides upon the disposition of these complaints
  • Ensures that all billing and collection activities meet and adhere to Medicare, MediCal, and other insurance regulations, rules, and laws
  • Attends and participates in the management team and other meetings
  • Maintains confidentiality within the work place, and the community

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a medical practice (preferably medical billing)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with commercial, Medicare, and HMO insurance procedures
  • Ability to review patient care reports for proper medical codes
  • Knowledge of and understanding of medical billing and/or coding systems, as appropriate to the position
