Medical Biller – Government Billing 

Fremont, CA

Contract to Hire 

$25 – $29/hour

NEW Medical Biller opportunity with one of our TOP healthcare clients located in Fremont, CA. Billers must have a strong understanding of appeals and denials processes for Medicare, and Medi-Cal, excellent communication, and strong problem-solving skills.  The ideal candidate should be reliable, calm, and extremely organized.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and submit electronic and hard copy claims to various payers (Government, Managed Care, and Commercial)
• Perform follow-ups on unpaid accounts
• Perform appeals with payer
• Payer denial review
• Processes refunds for accounts payable
• Posts payment transfers from professional billing to hospital billing
• Review accounts for possible underpayments

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with commercial, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and HMO insurance procedures
• Working knowledge of full-cycle billing and collection
• Understanding and working knowledge of appeals and denials processes
• Experience with EPIC is a plus!
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication
