Option 1 Staffing is currently recruiting for a Medical Billing and Collections Rep. Due to outstanding growth and continued success, our Client is looking for candidates to join their team of professionals as a Medical Billing and Collections Representative.

POSITION SUMMARY
Individual will handle billing and/or collections functions for all primary and secondary payers whether it be Commercial, Managed Care, Medicaid, Medicare or Patient Accounts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Review and confirm that appropriate billing documentation has been obtained, including authorizations and Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs) as required.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and applies that knowledge to billing as required by individual contracts.
• Understand Medicaid, Medicare and Insurance billing, including coordination of benefits.
• Work with supervisor to maintain accuracy of reference materials and implementation of new billing codes and fee schedules.
• Review and approve price adjustments for 1st level approval from Accounts Receivable Specialist.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 plus years Medical Billing/Collections experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare guidelines required, Medicaid programs, Managed Care and Commercial contracting.
• Good analytical skills and a high degree of accuracy.
• Computer literacy in a Windows environment. (Strong Excel skills)
• Experience with multiple billing software/system conversions beneficial.
• Patient accounts experience a plus.
