Option 1 Staffing is currently recruiting for a Materials Management person who can perform the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. May perform a variety of coordinating, routing, and material handling duties. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Prepares and maintains records of product shipped.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives shipments from common carriers. Ensure shipments match incoming documentation. Delivers received goods to appropriate recipients or moves materials into inventory as required. Identifies recipients when not otherwise available
  • Examines and inspects items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Identifies those items received that require incoming inspection and place into quarantine for testing.
  • Logs received material and shipments into computerized inventory tracking system daily following policy and procedures
  • Prepares documents for shipping and execute shipments in accordance with Selux practices and policies
  • Logs materials taken out of inventory via the computerized inventory tracking system daily following policy and procedures
  • Receives and counts stock items on a regular basis, and records data manually or using computer.
  • Identifies any items that have expired and dispose of properly. Identifies any items with short expiry dates and ensure that these are used first using FIFO inventory practice.
  • Works with Supply Chain to ensure adequate quantities of materials are on hand
  • Ensures a high degree of detail and focus on every job
  • Ensures personnel and outside contractors follow Warehouse Safety Procedures
  • Actively participates in the ongoing shipping and facilities training programs by fulfilling all required learning and training experiences
  • Initiates and executes process improvements in the inventory management
  • Performs various office tasks such as email, phone, scanning, copying, and paperwork organization as requested

Other duties as assigned, including operating hand lifts safely, and routine organizing and cleaning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years working within distribution; or 5+ years of experience working as a distribution supervisor in lieu of a degree.
  • Keeps accurate and up to date records of all materials received into site, used at the site, and being shipped from the site
  • Adapts quickly to change
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Must be well organized, capture work details and highlight any unexpected learning
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be proactive, reliable, self-motivated and a team player
  • Must be able to understand directions and work with limited supervision
  • Basic computer skills, competent with Microsoft Office software, including Excel & Word. Ability to learn or experience with specialized storage tracking software
  • Ability to understanding and knowledge of warehouse and facility Good Manufacturing Practices. (GMP’s)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Outstanding team working skills, quick learner
