Insurance Verification Specialist

Option 1 Staffing is actively recruiting for a bright and articulate Insurance Verification Specialist for a TOP University in Palo Alto, Ca. As the Insurance Verification Specialist you will be responsible for verifying patients’ insurance coverage, updating existing patient files, and ensuring patients understand their financial coverage and financial responsibilities. Candidates should be tech-savvy, a quick learner, and a great team player.

Responsibilities:

• Perform outbound calls and emails to insurance providers to review the status of authorizations
• Obtain information on the patient’s eligibility status to ensure proper coverage and payment for service
• Assist patients in understanding what their financial responsibilities will be
• Update insurance information for existing patients
• Provide coverage for the front desk when needed
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and colleagues

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 1 year of insurance verification experience
• Knowledge of CPT codes
• Experience with EPIC is a plus!
