The HR Assistant will be responsible for supporting and coordinating a variety of HR and administrative activities and tasks including compliance, recruiting, employee recordkeeping, employee benefits, calendar scheduling, learning and development tracking, and payroll support. The successful candidate will report directly to the VP of Human Resources

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports all onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Supports talent acquisition and recruiting coordination led by company recruiters.
  • Maintains electronic and manual personnel records/files, data entry for employee records
  • Manages calendars and scheduling for senior leaders
  • Maintains HR reports and metrics, effectively presents data
  • Collects and processes personnel paperwork for new hires, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Responds to employment verification requests and unemployment claims.
  • Under guidance, coordinates employee development and training activities
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date job descriptions for all positions
  • Coordinates and assists with the workforce performance evaluation process to ensure timely completion which includes scheduling, follow-up, compiling feedback collected during annual evaluations, and filing completed reviews into personnel files
  • Serves as an employee point of contact for timekeeping, payroll, and benefits/401(k) plans
  • Supports employees with navigation of the company HRIS
  • Coordinate employee engagement programs and events
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 3+ years HR and administrative experience; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of a degree, 5+ years of equivalent work experience acceptable
  • Strong HR acumen; knowledge of best practices
  • High level of communication skills both orally and in writing with the confidence and ability to influence and advise all employees
  • Proven ability to work with discretion and confidentiality
