  Job Summary 

 The Data Center Lead (DCL) coordinates all data center(s) infrastructure operations & projects to meet organizational needs. The DCL ensures that the standards and procedures are followed during design and implementation of technology infrastructure. Also responsible for monitoring the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance. 

 

 

Oversee the delivery of services and support in hospitals data centers including those managed by service providers. This includes day-to-day operations oversight and management of all aspects of the data center. 

Manage vendor relations ensuring optimal service and cost efficiency. 

Server, Storage and network infrastructure installation including vendor coordination for installations or break/fix repair tasks. 

Manages and coordinates urgent and complicated support issues. Act as escalation point for all requests and incidents. 

Determine root cause of issues and communicate appropriately to internal and external customers. Lead service incidents lessons learned discussions and develop strategies for improvement. Monitor and manage service incident ticket queue (participating in escalated calls as needed) 

Provide data and reporting of KPI’s and trends to IS Leadership Team and others key stakeholders in ad-hoc, daily, weekly, monthly and as needed. 

Take ownership and accountability to drive quicker recovery and restore time, cross-functional collaboration across teams during major incidents, improved visibility, monitoring, and alerting. 

Manage multiple, large-scale projects including data center upgrades and data center strategies.  

Work cross-functionally with multiple operations and infrastructure teams to ensure scope, cost, risk and timelines are effectively managed and project goals are met. 

Provide technical leadership to significantly improve infrastructure availability and drive operations excellence  

 Minimum Qualifications 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. 

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university  

Experience:  (7) Seven years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience  

License/Certification: Technical datacenter certifications preferred 

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification. 

 Advanced knowledge required across multiple technology stacks (Servers, Storage, WAN & LAN) 

Knowledge of Wintel/Virtualization/Unix/Linux/Mainframe/SDN/Databases 

Self-driven professional, very detail oriented. 

Strong verbal and written skills are required.  

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. 

Exceptional understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. 

Extensive knowledge of data center operations, IT Security, telecommunications, network engineering, data center applications, mainframe/client/server computing, and production operations support. 

Strong leadership and project management abilities. Ability to lead cross-functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature. 

Experienced with DCIM and infrastructure monitoring tools 

Proficiency with applications (Spreadsheets, apps, systems, how to run them) 

Experience with monitoring, OS patching or backup & recovery preferred 

Experience with On-Call rotation, weekend and off-hours work required
