Under the supervision of the Billing Manager/ Supervisor, the Professional Fee Biller is part of a team which has full responsibility for the efficient and accurate completion, keying and batching charging documents in a timely manner. The Professional Fee Biller resolves pre-bill edits and follows-up as appropriate.

Option 1 Staffing is currently recruiting for a Charge Capture Specialist-Billing who will be working with providers on the phone resolving billing errors. Must be familiar with Charge Capture and billing. Must have good communication skills. This is a 100% REMOTE position. to support the Chairman of a busy department while also supporting other members of the Sr. Team. This is a hybrid role (1 day a week in the office the rest remote). Must be familiar with Epic.

Duties and Skills:

· Epic

· Experience with Charge Capture and billing

· Good communication skills

· 100% REMOTE

· Resolving billing errors (missing modifiers, charges)

· Will be on the phone and email with providers (clinics, dr.’s nurses) so communication both verbal and written is a must.

· Accurately completes, keys and batches charge documents in a timely manner.

· Adheres to official coding guidelines when reviewing charges.

· Applies predefined ICD-9-CM, and modifiers following coding guidelines

· Edits billing documents and invoices and corrects appropriately. Initiates charge correction processes as needed.

· Ensure coded services, provider charges and medical record documentation meet appropriate guidelines or standards.

· Ensures all services are accounted for and billed.

· Keeps abreast of billing guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.

· Performs or updates required billing information for claim edits, denials, documentation requests.

· Utilize appropriate methods to ensure all documented professional services are submitted timely.

Education Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
