  Responsibilities 

Manage the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results
Responsible for preparation of complex/high-risk areas of the financial statement close including clinical trial accruals and stock-based compensation
Responsible for technical accounting research and documentation of the Company’s accounting on various complex accounting matters as they arise. Proactively stay current on all pending/new accounting requirements and analyze potential impact on the Company’s financial reporting
Lead the development of the Company’s internal controls and the related documentation of formal policies, procedures and internal control narratives

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
    Assist with special projects as they arise
  • Lead and mentor team of accounting professionals with overall responsibilities in all areas of the general ledger. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting including flux analyses and supporting schedules for the 10Q/10K and to support internal operational decision-making. 
  • Drive a continuous improvement approach to improve accounting operations efficiencies, effectiveness, and scalability. 

  Requirements:
BA/BS in accounting or finance with CPA certification
At least 7 years experience, preferably with combination of public accounting and Biotech industry experience. Big-Four public accounting experience a plus.
Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
Ability to prepare quarterly and annual SEC filings
Experience with the development and maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
Excellent collaboration, organizational skills and attention to details
Strong analytical and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams,  Ability to manage a team of professionals
High customer-service focus
Proficiency with general ledger software, Excel and other office tools (Outlook, MS Office, etc.)
