Option 1 Staffing is currently recruiting for A/P Accounting Technician for a contract to hire role in Santa Clara, CA.
The Accounting Technician has day to day responsibility for a functional area or process. Has proficiency and makes decisions in defined functional area or process. Uses expertise to improve area of responsibility for increased productivity. Suggests and implements improvements for controls and work flow. Can interface with multiple subsidiaries, customers, or location departments.


  • Fully understand and lead the procure to pay cycle and monthly AP cycle, internal and external point of contact on AP operation matters
  • Meet AP deadlines while ensuring that payables transactions are being recorded accurately and processed efficiently for close period
  • Studies and analyzes accounting records for purposes of preparing statements and reports
  • Process accounts payables and issue check disbursement, cash receipts, and 1099 issues.
  • Prepares and keeps financial and business transaction data up-to-date, applying accepted procedures, and prepares reports to ensure accurate accounting records
  • Performs complex clerical and entry-level accounting activities
  • Compiles and checks source documents, such as vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and cash receipts, for completeness and accuracy, and prepares reports
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions to appropriate ledgers and journals, and totals accounts
  • Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships
  • Support internal and external audit related to AP transactions
  • Other duties as assigned


1. BS or equivalent education in accounting or business finance, preferred

2. A minimum of 2 years work experience doing similar duties.

3. Written (mostly through email) and verbal communication skills are required to communicate with sales
